Travel Tips Shop has taken the time to put some of our favorite safety gadgets together.

My sister, Debbie, purchased the door wedges and something similar to the travel door alarm, on the right, for our sibling’s only trip to the Dominican Republic. The added piece of mind was wonderful.

A fan favourite for a reason, it works. This self defense siren keychain is small but packs a punch. Simply pull the pin and a loud sound and a flashing strobe light will activate. Handy for any situation, not just while you are travelling.

From fan favourite to personal favourite, this is the portable door stopper door wedge alarm.  This alarm has two functions which we like. First, it will set of a loud noise when tripped. Second, because its a wedge and has a no slip base , it will prevent the door from opening and allowing entry. There are settings to lower or increase the siren. My sister and I were once in the pool area while my brother was having a nap during the day. My brother used his wedge alarm during this time along with a do not desturb sign. After 30 min the alarm sounded, it was clear as a bell all the way to the pool are. Needless to say his nap was over.

We have all seen the videos on youtube where people open a hotel room door with a elastic band. This portable door lock is super easy to use and stops someone being able to open the door while it’s installed.

Similar to the door lock above, the Lewis N Clark travel door alarm prevents the door from opening but also alerts the occupant that someone is trying the door for entry. With 91 db alarm and a built in led light makes this a no brainer.

We always travel with the Master lock 5900D.  A ridgid exterior with a programmable combo lock and a heavy guage steel band makes this the ideal portable safe.
